Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site QA Engineer role based in Kampala. The QA Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and executing test cases to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability. Daily responsibilities include performing manual testing, documenting test results, logging and tracking defects, and collaborating with developers and product teams to resolve issues. The role also involves contributing to test plans, refining quality assurance processes, and helping to ensure that releases meet established quality standards before deployment. The QA Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain consistent product quality and support continuous improvement of testing practices.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Test Execution and Test Cases development to validate software against functional and non-functional requirements.
• Candidates should possess solid Quality Assurance and Software Testing skills to ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the development lifecycle.
• Candidates should possess hands-on Manual Testing experience to identify defects, verify fixes, and validate user workflows across different environments.
• Candidates should possess effective analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate issues, interpret test results, and propose improvements.
• Candidates should possess good communication and collaboration skills to work with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with bug tracking tools, test management tools, and familiarity with basic scripting or automation concepts is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Kampala, manage multiple testing tasks, and maintain high attention to detail under deadlines.
