Job Summary

Enabel in Uganda is seeking to recruit a dynamic and results driven Project Manager for the We Explore project. The position will be based in Kampala with frequent travel to the field.

You will lead the We Explore Project, ensuring effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of activities to achieve project objectives. This includes managing budgets, coordinating multi-stakeholder partnerships, providing technical expertise in sustainable tourism, and leading a diverse team to deliver results in line with donor requirements.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee project start-up, execution, and closure with strong planning and decision-making.
  • Manage budget, grants, procurement, and compliance with European Union standards.
  • Coordinate activities across circuits and integrate gender, inclusion, and environmental safeguards.
  • Provide technical input on sustainable tourism and change management.
  • Lead and motivate a multi-location team and ensure knowledge sharing.

Educational Qualifications, Experience, & Skills Required

  • Master’s degree in development studies, Project Management, Tourism/Hospitality or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years as Project Manager in international development; 5 years of these in sustainable tourism or related sectors.
  • Proven experience managing multi-million Euro projects, EU-funded programs, and multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, strategic vision, and expertise in sustainable tourism practices.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
