Job Summary

The Manager, Access to Finance will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing initiatives that improve access to finance for businesses, SMEs, and targeted beneficiaries. The role involves working with financial institutions, development partners, and internal stakeholders to develop innovative financing solutions, strengthen credit linkages, and enhance financial inclusion. This position requires strong expertise in financial products, partnerships, and program management.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evaluate historical and current financial data to understand the company’s financial condition. 
  • Study industry-specific business trends and research data. 
  • Write data-backed reports to support the management team in making strategic business decisions. 
  • Develop financial models that forecast business outcomes and profits. 
  • Measure financial risk associated with investment decisions. 
  • Prepare documentation to help startups and small businesses in getting funds. 
  • Explore, assess, and identify appropriate financing providers and opportunities. 
  • Participate in building partnerships to promote access to finance and collaborate with commercial and non-commercial partners. 
  • Coordinate the roll-out of training and capacity-building program. 
  • Develop innovative ideas/concepts that increase the uptake of financial services by rural communities, including farmers and SMEs. 
  • Identify and/or develop required financial tools and methodological approaches and provide technical assistance and training/capacity building to ensure activity interventions achieve or surpass established objectives. 
  • Facilitate the financial literacy and education of the selected SME’s. 
  • Contribute to data monitoring and management systems to ensure quality in implementation. 

Educational Qualifications, Experience, & Skills Required

  • A minimum of a second-class (upper) degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or Commerce from an accredited university. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word. 
  • Previous experience in financial services or the banking sector is a valuable asset. 
  • Strong desire for continuous learning and personal growth, with an eagerness to explore diverse industries and tackle complex business issues. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for acquiring new knowledge. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong analytical abilities. 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and achieve results. 
  • Team player with effective collaboration skills. 
  • A solid grasp of business concepts and proficiency in business intelligence tools. 
  • Fluency in English is a prerequisite. 
  • Enthusiasm for solving intricate strategic and financial problems.
