About the Company:
Unifi Africa is a fast-growing financial technology company currently operating in Zambia, Tanzania and South Africa and most recently Uganda. Unifi Uganda delivers personal lending products from branch-based channels, utilising internally generated software and lending products backed by internal IT and data analytics teams.
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support, including knowledge of PBX systems, DHCP, IP addresses, DNS, and Google Workspace. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Manage and maintain PBX systems, ensuring smooth communication within the organization.
- Configure and manage DHCP servers to ensure efficient IP address allocation.
- Monitor and manage DNS settings to ensure proper domain name resolution.
- Assist in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and update software and hardware as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets and inventory.
- Provide support for remote users and ensure secure access to company resources.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to implement and maintain IT policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development and implementation of IT projects.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in IT support or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of PBX systems, DHCP, IP addresses, DNS, and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with network protocols and security practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA) are a plus.
