Job Summary

Access2innovation (A2i) is seeking an experienced Grants Officer to oversee grant financial management, compliance, and reporting under the Green Technology Transfer Fund (GTTF). The role ensures that Implementing Partners (IPs) comply with donor requirements, budgets, and reporting standards, and that funds are used efficiently, transparently, and in line with approved objectives.

The Grants Officer will work closely with the Project Manager, A2i Uganda and Denmark teams, aBi Development, and Implementing Partner finance teams, acting as a key link between programme delivery and financial accountability.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage grant financial reporting and compliance using the aBi Development Grant Management System (GMS)
  • Train and support Implementing Partners in correct financial reporting and use of the GMS
  • Review partner budgets, expenditure, and supporting documentation for compliance
  • Monitor grant expenditure against approved budgets and forecasts
  • Coordinate and support annual external audits for Implementing Partners
  • Support risk management, fraud prevention, and corrective actions where required
  • Provide timely financial information to support programme management and decision-making
  • Liaise closely with aBi Development finance staff and A2i project teams

Educational Qualifications, Experience, & Skills Required

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Professional qualification: ACCA or CPA (required); MBA is an advantage
  • 4–6 years’ post-graduate experience in grants or finance management within donor-funded programmes
  • Proven experience working with the aBi Development Grant Management System (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of donor compliance, audits, and financial controls
  • Experience working with international development or donor-funded organisations
  • Agribusiness or green growth programme experience is an advantage
  • Strong analytical, communication, and capacity-building skills
