Job Summary

The Chemical Warehouse Technician – OPS will be responsible for the safe receipt, storage, handling, and issuance of chemicals in accordance with operational, safety, and environmental standards. The role focuses on inventory control, compliance with chemical handling regulations, and supporting operational continuity. This position is ideal for a safety-conscious technician with experience in chemical warehousing or industrial operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • HSE
    • Ensure full compliance with Company, Affiliate and Site HSE Management Systems of all routine and non-routine activities under his perimeter, whether they are conducted by Core personnel, by Contracted staff or by Contractors.
    • Ensure all actions are implemented to meet Affiliate and site HSE Objectives (LTIF, TRIR, Observation reporting, Life Saving Checks, Joint Safety Tours, …)
    • Contribute to the implementation and adherence to the Environmental Management System (including Waste management plan).   
    • Ensure accurate reporting of all HSE KPI, including HSE events through dedicated Company tool. 
    • Ensure best HSE practices are enforced for the contracts under his responsibility with specific attention to traffic management, handling and lifting of hazardous goods.
    • Promote a strong safety culture by participating in safety tours, toolbox talks, and incident reporting.
    • Monitor Chemical storage and warehouse housekeeping, ensuring a clean, organized, hazard-free environment.
    • Ensure availability of emergency response equipment. Participate in routine safety drills.
    • Report and escalate any safety incident, spills, equipment faults or discrepancies to the Consumables Supervisor
  • Chemicals Storage and Warehouse Management
    • Follow-up construction of the new Chemical storage area. Participate to commissioning of the new Chemical Warehouse. Follow-on Punch list clearance.
    • Manage the preparation for operation phase.
    • Get familiar and ensure strict implementation of Chemical warehouse management procedures and instructions.
    • Contribute to procedure preparation and revision based on feedback during operation.
    • Implement regulatory requirements.
    • Lead day-to-day operation of Chemical storage area:
      • Receive and inspect chemical deliveries (IBCs, drums, …), verifying document, labeling, and integrity of containers
      • Coordinate with laboratory for quality checks as required
      • Ensure safe handling and storage of all chemicals in their dedicated areas
      • Coordinate mobilization of bowsers, tankers trucks and other handling means, as required.
      • Based on FOPS site Production team requests, coordinate the loading operations from IBCs to bowsers and chemical tanker trucks – ensure no mixing of chemical versus bowsers/trucks.
      • Ensure all chemical transfers are performed in line with spill prevention, emergency response, and Hazardous Material Handling procedures
    • Organize for the dispatch of bowsers and tanker trucks to point of offloading (CPF/Wellpads)
    • Based on FOPS site Maintenance team requests, coordinate the transfer of lubricants to CPF
    • Coordinate movement of delivery trucks, bowsers and tankers within the chemical storage and warehouse facilities
    • Ensure management of empty IBCs
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using warehouse stock management systems.
    • Support continuous improvement in chemical storage and warehouse facilities safety and efficiency.
    • Additionally, organize salt bulk transfer from OSB till KAS02.

Educational Qualifications, Experience, & Skills Required

  • Diploma of Higher Education (Bachelor’s degree, …) in Logistics, Supply chain management, … plus minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience.
  • Practical experience in Warehouse Operations, Chemical Storage/Handling and/or Materials Management, preferentially in the Oil and Gas or petrochemical industry. 
  • Knowledge of Hazardous materials handling, labeling (GHS) and storage regulations
  • Experience in procedure development
  • Knowledge of SAP tool and physical stock management digital tool
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols, PPE usage and emergency response procedures
